What advice can you give students that can help them develop their own leadership skills?
Be Bold. Don’t waste your precious four years playing small. Yes, you will be busy. Yes, you will be stressed out. But, make the daily choice to be bold. Do things you’ve never done before. Talk to people who you wouldn’t usually interact with. Take a stretch class. Take advantage of all the resources, activities and events around you. The more you can grow yourself, the more effective of a leader you will be.
What advice were you given to help you develop your own leadership?
When I came across this quote, I literally cried: “Leadership is communicating others’ worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.” (Steven Covey). It has become part of my life purpose and ministry as a leader.
